Instant Playback

Long-tap a media file in the Files app and pick Playback to start streaming audio or video without waiting for the download to finish. Playback uses byte-range requests against the server, so seeking jumps straight to the byte offset rather than buffering from the start.

Fullscreen and Picture in Picture are both supported, and Handoff lets you continue playback on another device signed into the same iCloud account.
